This "method" has been baptized "Brittish Mode" or "All in" and nobody knows for sure who the first guy who tried to depress all the Ratio buttons at the same time can be. Hundreds of burnt push-pull output stages later, this method is still in use. Unless you're the proud owner of the first series of machines (grey face) which had Class A output stages, you'd better think twelve times before trying that...
